Sandro’s legal career focuses mainly on commodity taxes (GST, HST, Provincial Sales Taxes) and most recently, in carbon and fuel taxes. Sandro has worked for the Canada Revenue Agency, in industry for an engineering firm and an airline, and in private practice with various mid to large size accounting firms.

 

In Sandro’s view, a good commodity tax lawyer is one who understands what the transaction is about – for example, what is being sold, to whom, by whom, and where? This necessarily implies asking questions – sometimes uncomfortable and complex ones - but most importantly means, getting to know the client. Sandro’s personable and familiar approach helps clients feel at ease with him and they soon realize that he has their best interests to heart.

 

In addition to commodity taxes, Sandro is eager to expand his capacity to help by assisting prospective clients with their family, wills and estates planning or civil matters.

 

A firm believer in work-life balance, Sandro is an avid tennis player and just recently got introduced to the rock-climbing world. He also enjoys playing bridge and chess. When not busy being active, you will find him in the kitchen making fresh pasta, preparing boeuf Stroganov or baking a banana loaf!
